A well-built flight case can outlast several generations of the equipment inside it — and repairing a good case almost always costs less than replacing it. We repair and modify flight cases in-house at our Essex workshop, helping extend the life of your case wherever possible.
We understand that a new case is not always the most budget-efficient option, so we assess every case individually and tell you honestly whether repair, modification or replacement is the practical answer.
Repair Services
- Replacement hardware and fittings — catches, handles, hinges, corners and lid stays that have worn, seized or been torn out
- Structural repairs — damaged panels, extrusions and edges after impacts
- New castors and castor plates, uprated where the original spec wasn’t up to the load
- Re-foaming with new custom foam inserts or foam padding when the interior has compressed, crumbled or no longer matches the equipment
Modification and Upgrades
Modification goes further than repair — it adapts a structurally sound case to a new job:
- Internal modifications including trays, divisions, compartments and drawers (where structurally possible)
- Adjustments for new or updated equipment — new foam, new mounting, new apertures when your gear changes but your case shouldn’t have to
- Added castors, handles or stacking features
- Engraved branding, serial numbers and labelling added to existing cases
If your equipment has changed but the case is sound, modification is usually far cheaper than starting again.
When Is a Case Worth Repairing?
As a rule of thumb: if the shell and extrusions are straight and the panels are sound, the case is worth saving — hardware, castors and foam are all replaceable. A case is usually past economic repair when the panels themselves have delaminated or broken across a large area, or when the cost of putting everything right approaches the cost of a new bespoke build.

Can you re-foam my case for different equipment?
Yes — this is one of the most common jobs we do. The shell stays; the interior is redesigned and re-cut around your new equipment.
Do you collect, or do I deliver the case?
Contact us to arrange the practical details — for most jobs the case comes to our Rainham workshop, and we’ll agree the logistics when we quote.
How long does a repair take?
Simple hardware swaps are quick; structural work and re-foams take longer. We’ll give you a realistic turnaround with the quote.
How much does flight case repair cost?
It depends entirely on the damage. Photos plus approximate case dimensions are enough for us to price most jobs — the quote is free and carries no obligation.
