Custom Flight Cases Manufacturer UK

Bespoke Flight Case Manufacturing

Each case is built around how it will be used, not from a standard template. We design and manufacture bespoke flight cases in-house in the UK — one-off custom jobs and larger production runs alike — with fast turnaround and consistent accuracy from the first case to the last.

If your equipment doesn’t fit an off-the-shelf case, or an off-the-shelf case doesn’t fit the way you work, this is the service you need.

How a Bespoke Build Works

Every build starts with the equipment itself: its dimensions, weight, fragile points, and how it travels — van, truck, air freight or courier. We can work from technical drawings, existing case specifications, or physical equipment measurements. If you’re not sure what to measure, our measuring guide walks you through it, or you can simply tell us the make and model.

From there we specify the construction — panel material and thickness, extrusions, hardware, castors rated for the loaded weight — and design the interior so nothing moves in transit. You’ll have direct contact with the team building your case from enquiry to completion, with realistic lead times and clear pricing agreed before work starts.

Customisation Options

We offer extensive flight case customisation, including:

  • Custom foam inserts, foam-lined interiors and padded protection
  • Removable or hinged lids
  • Access doors and panels
  • Cable management (cable traps and routing)
  • Internal divisions and compartments
  • Trays and lift-out sections
  • Removable and sliding drawers
  • Branding, engraving and labelling
  • Castors, handles and stacking features
  • Flaps and vents
  • A variety of plywood and Astariboard (heavy-duty flight panel) thicknesses, colours and texture finishes

Case Styles We Build

Bespoke doesn’t just mean bespoke sizes. Common formats include rackmount cases from 1U to 42U, road trunks, mixer and console cases with cable access, tool and workstation cases that operate from inside the case, briefcase and tray-and-lid styles, and display cases that open into a stand. Browse our case design styles for examples of each format — then tell us what needs to change for your equipment.

Who We Build For

Our bespoke cases travel with touring production and live events companies, broadcast and film crews, AV and lighting hire firms, medical and scientific equipment suppliers, motorsport teams, exhibitors, and defence and security users. The brief changes; the approach doesn’t — the case is designed around the equipment and the environment it has to survive.

What Affects the Cost of a Custom Flight Case?

There’s no price list for bespoke work, because no two builds are identical — but the price is driven by a handful of things you can see coming:

  • Size and panel specification — larger cases and heavier-duty panels cost more in material
  • Hardware — the count and grade of catches, handles, corners and castors
  • Interior complexity — a fully fitted custom foam interior with trays and dividers costs more than a lined shell
  • Quantity — production runs bring the per-case price down
  • Extras — branding, engraving, doors, drawers and other custom features

Send us your equipment details and we’ll give you a clear, itemised quote — free and without obligation, usually the same working day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you build one-off cases, or is there a minimum order?

Both. One-off builds are a normal part of our week, and production runs are priced accordingly.

Can you copy an existing case?

Yes — if you have a case that works well, we can work from it, and usually improve on the details that have worn or failed.

What do you need from me to quote?

Equipment dimensions in millimetres (or the make and model), how the case will travel, and any features you know you need. Photos help. See how we measure cases.

How long does a bespoke case take?

Lead time depends on the specification and our current workload — we’ll give you a realistic date with your quote, not an optimistic one.
