Custom Flight Cases Manufacturer UK

Custom Gun Cases and Foam Inserts (RFD Service)

Oakleigh Cases is a registered firearms dealer under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1968. This allows us to provide a fully compliant, in-house service for sporting and shooting equipment — including custom-built gun cases and precision-cut foam inserts — with the legal ability to receive, hold and return your firearm as part of the build.

Very few case manufacturers can offer this. It’s the difference between a case cut from measurements and a case fitted to the firearm itself.

Why the RFD Status Matters

Working with the actual firearm rather than a spec sheet means the foam interior can be cut to a genuinely exact fit: the stock, action and barrel supported correctly, with cavities for scopes, moderators, magazines, chokes and accessories exactly where you want them. The firearm is test-fitted in the case before it leaves the workshop.

Because everything happens under one roof, there is:

  • No need for third-party handling — no intermediary RFD transfers just to get the work done
  • Faster turnaround and a simpler process — one transfer in, one transfer out
  • Full compliance with UK regulations throughout
  • A safe, controlled and professional environment for your equipment from arrival to return

This Service Includes

  • Custom-built cases for clay shooting, practical shooting and sporting use
  • Precision-cut foam inserts for safe storage and transport, cut to your specific firearm and accessories
  • Re-foaming of existing gun cases when your equipment or accessories change
  • Secure and compliant handling of regulated equipment during production
  • The ability to receive, hold and return equipment as part of the build process

Who This Service Is For

Shooting enthusiasts and sporting users, clay and practical shooters, police forces, military personnel, gamekeepers, and professional applications requiring reliable and compliant transport solutions. Whether it’s one shotgun travelling to weekend shoots or a set of cases for an organisation’s equipment, the approach is the same: the case is built around the firearm, not the other way round.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the transfer to you work?

Contact us before doing anything — we’ll explain the transfer process for your situation and agree the arrangements in advance. All transfers are handled in accordance with UK firearms law.

Can you make foam inserts for a gun case I already own?

Yes. If your existing case is sound, a new precision-cut interior is often all it needs — and the RFD status means we can fit it to the firearm itself.

Can you build for shotguns, rifles and pistols?

We build for sporting and shooting equipment across disciplines — tell us what you have and how it travels, and we’ll confirm what we can do when you enquire.

Will the case be suitable for air travel?

We can build to withstand airline baggage handling; requirements for flying with firearms vary by airline and destination, so check your carrier’s rules and tell us the requirements when you enquire — we’ll build to them.
